I think that I am going to have to develop a colour palette for my troops so that they don't clash and don't look too similar.
A couple other OSW have left comments, thanks for your encouragement lads.
As this is my first blog I think that I am going to have a look at other OSW blogs, perhaps even review them! (I can already hear the sound of OSWs typing away on their machines to up-date their blogs before I get there).

Really enjoying the blog!
I am a wargamer in my mind, ie I buy all the magazines, look at all the websites! But, am interested in far too many periods to commit to one! Have loads of figures half painted!
Hopefully you will keep updating your blog as it is a real inspiration for me and I am sure for others, keep up the good work and above all enjoy it!

One other suggestion (if I may) . . . when you begin painting your units, keep an index card for each unit and record just what paints you use on each one.
This really doesn't take much time, but it allows you later to duplicate the paint job if something happens to a figure . . . or, if you particularly like a color once you see it on a figure, you can check to see just what it is.
The most important thing to remember when painting figures is that you are painting them for yourself . . . and as long as you are happy with them, that's all that's necessary.
(There's always someone who will criticize just to try and tear others down -- ignore them, after all they didn't pay for the figures, you did -- and if you are happy, that's all that counts).
