Malburian Dismounted Dragoons

Bavarian dismounted dragoons (note the sling for when they are mounted) from the Arco Regiment. 15 mm Dixon's miniatures.

SYW and Malburian

A few more battalions of foot take to the field. Pictured here are "Munster Regiment" of foot for the period 1700 - 1712. I have painted them for my East meets West Moldovian Campaign of 1711 but.... the OSW group have suggested that they might also be used as militia in imaginations Seven Years War!

These are also the last Malburians that I have so I will now crack on with my Seven Year War project in ernest.

Figures by Dixons Miniatures. These figures are extremely well done and very pleasant to paint. High relief means that buttons etc. can be painted easily.

Note that the drummers of this regiment wore the reverse colours.

Moldovian 1711

More units for my "East meets West" (Moldovian campaign of 1711) take to the field. Three very large battalions of 48 musketeers that could quite easily pass for either Moldovians, Wallachians or Transylvanians (Ottoman allies).

I continue to be very greatful for the information that Nick from the Old School Wargame discussion forum sent me on the Campaign. Inspirational stuff and from which most of what I am doing is based.

Ottoman: Polish Allies: Winged Hussars

A couple of members of the OSW (an especially big thank you to Nick) were kind enough to let me know that single and double winged hussars saw service in the early 1700s in the Ottoman Army as Polish allies.

Pictured here are Polish double-winged hussars (figures by Essex Miniautres 15mm range) that form part of my 1711 Moldovian Campaign Ottoman army.

Bosnian Frontiersmen

About a month ago I finished a unit of Bosnian Frontiersmen for my Ottoman army of the 1700s. The figures are Essex Miniature Ottoman Arnault/ Martheloses musketeers (RNO13) to which I added Ottoman Mtd. General and body-guard (RNO18) as a command.
