Distractions

Well my project is taking a bit of a knock already. Three things have occured in the last few days and anyone could undermine the entire adventure!

Firstly, my fourth baby was born on Monday, a lovely little girl that we have called Lucy Morgan. Obviously my time will be taken up in looking after the other three and helping my wife with the wee one. But don't get me wrong, we are absolutely delighted of her arrival.

Secondly, I was recently given "Cossacks 2" a computer game which didn't worry me much until I tried it out! Gosh, what a game. It is a Napoleonic game and it is fan-bloody-tastic! Very very addictive and very much computerized figure wargame.

Thirdly, today in the post I received a large box of 15mm Swiss and Burgundian figures that will also need painting.... and they have arrived before the 7YW figures. Bad luck for them, good luck for the Swiss. I am, of course, going to be doing OSW and big battalions with the Swiss.

Congratulations on the new birth! At least you've got some experience in what to expect, by the 4th one. Some friends of ours just had their own 5th recently.

Hooray for young Lucy Morgan!

Okay, you're slightly forgiven for interrupting your SYW project to take care of your new arrival.

Of course, one of the best ways to take care of her is to paint a Battalion of her own personal SYW troops (Princess Lucy's Own).

At least that can be your excuse.

From one of your earlier posts, I got the impression that you were being very "historically minded" with your SYW project (which is totally fine).

However, the title of your Blog suggests that you might also be considering having an "imaginary Duchy" (which may use historical troops).

If so, and you are interested in being part of the "group blog" Emperor vs Elector, email me at bluebear@uniserve.com and I'll get an invitation to join sent to you.

Take a look and let me know if you are interested:

Congratulations - both for your daughter (I too have one) & your LaceWars project (none I have).
May I write that I'm somewhat surprised by the name "Colonia lulia equestris"? By the mid-18° cent. Colonia would have evolved into Köln, I suspect, so the country would be perhaps known as Köln-Pferdsomething?
I subscribe wholly to Jeff's suggestion of special LaceWars battalion commemorating the evenement...
